EVERACTIVE EXERCISE CLASSES
Ebenezer is dedicated to keep our residents healthy. That’s why we offer evidence-based exercise classes at most of our sites. EverActive from Centrex Rehab offers either ‘SAIL’ fitness class or ‘Balance Works’ fitness class.
Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) group exercise class. This free class provides information for adults 65+ on how to stay active and independent for life. Residents who take this class will participate in exercises that include low to moderate aerobic conditioning, progressive strength training, flexibility exercises, and balance exercise. Exercises can be performed both seated and standing and modified to accommodate your current fitness level. This class is appropriate for everyone.
Balance Works group exercise class – For an extra fee, you can participate in this exercise class. Using gentle and easy-to-follow strength and balance exercises from the Otago Exercise Program, Balance Works uses ankle cuff weights to strengthen the leg muscle important for maintaining and improving your balance. This class focuses on balance and stability exercises such as standing with one foot in front of the other and walking on the toes. This class will help improve range of motion with the neck, hip, knee and ankle. To participate you will need to be able to stand with support. This class will be offered once a week for an additional cost.
