Senior housing for those living independently broadly describes a lifestyle of living in an apartment, condominium or cooperative building designed with the needs of adults age 55 and older in mind. The buildings are created with wider doorways and other adapted-design features to accommodate seniors.
Independent senior living communities are designed to create a lifestyle of convenience and support for seniors as well as providing social activities and opportunities for interaction with other residents. Many communities host a number of activities and social events for their residents every week! These properties usually have an onsite caretaker. Depending on the community, on-site medical staff may be available, as are services such as a beautician/barber and a convenience store or gift shop. |
You can contract services for yourself that make it possible to age in place without the need to move as your need for assistance increases.
As part of our commitment to keep our residents healthy, Ebenezer works with Fairview Healthcare Services. Fairview home care nurses, physical therapists and social workers are assigned to Ebenezer communities to facilitate resident healthcare services, available through the system, that may be needed.
