Clara Storyteller

Clara’s story:

After her husband passed away from a battle with Cancer, Clara felt lost and unsure of what her future held. But since moving to Ebenezer Senior Living, she has found a renewed sense of purpose and joy. The caring staff and vibrant community have helped her rediscover passions she thought were long gone, like painting. Through creative activities and a strong sense of support, Clara feels truly seen and valued. For the first time in years, she feels connected—to herself and others—and has regained her spark.

"Ebenezer has given me more than just a place to live,” Clara says. “It’s given me a place where I feel I truly belong. The kindness, the encouragement, and the sense of dignity have allowed me to thrive in ways I never imagined. I’m so grateful to be here, living with purpose and joy once again."

Mary and Arthur’s Story:

Arthur and Mary, both in their 80s, had always shared a life full of love and adventure. But when Mary’s rheumatoid arthritis worsened, simple tasks like dressing and cooking became too much for her to handle on her own. Arthur, though devoted, found himself overwhelmed by the added responsibility.

After much thought, they chose Ebenezer Senior Living and moved into the Assisted Living program. The compassionate staff helped Mary with daily tasks, giving her the support she needed while allowing her to maintain her dignity. "It’s such a relief," Arthur says. "Mary gets the help she needs, and I no longer worry about managing everything alone." For both of them, Ebenezer has offered the perfect balance of care and independence, allowing them to continue their life together with peace of mind.

Ava & Fran

Fran and Ava’s Story:

When Fran began experiencing memory loss, her daughter Ava feared the worst. A neurologist confirmed her fears—Fran had early-stage Alzheimer’s. Struggling with the decision, Ava chose Ebenezer Senior Living for its compassionate staff and specialized Memory Care. “From the moment we walked in, I knew it was the right place,” Ava says, relieved to find a community that would treat Fran with kindness and respect.

The Ebenezer Journey Program gives Ava time to care for herself, knowing Fran is safe and engaged in meaningful activities. “It’s hard to ask for help, but now I can breathe, knowing she’s in good hands,” Ava shares.

For Fran, Ebenezer is place where she can still feel connected and valued. “Seeing Mom smile again has been a gift I never thought I’d receive. I’ll forever be grateful to Ebenezer for giving my mom the care she deserves.”

Harlan's Story:

Two years ago, Harlan’s world became smaller as mobility issues made it harder for him to leave his home. Isolated and disconnected, he knew he needed a change. Moving to Ebenezer Senior Living gave him more than just good healthcare—it gave him a sense of meaning and community.

One of the most transformative experiences for Haren has been the Intergenerational Connections program, which brings together seniors and children to share stories, skills, and life lessons. Through this program, Harlan has shared his experiences but has also learned from the younger generations, rekindling his joy and sense of value. “I never thought I’d make a difference again; this program has allowed me to do just that,” Harlan says.

The bonds he’s formed through the program have not only improved his social life but also his emotional well-being. “I’m so grateful to connect and grow alongside these seniors and my senior friends here. It’s a joy I didn’t know I’d find again.”
