Honoring the Heart of Care: CNA Appreciation Week at Ebenezer

Ebenezer | Jun 10, 2025

In every Ebenezer community, there are team members who quietly keep things running, who notice the details others might miss, and who form deep, trusting relationships with residents and families. These are our Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Nursing Assistants/Resident Assistants (NAR)—and this week, we celebrate everything they do.

When is CNA Week?

CNA Appreciation Week is a national observance honoring those on the frontlines of long-term care. At Ebenezer, CNAs serve with compassion, professionalism, and heart. Whether they are assisting with daily activities, comforting someone who’s feeling lonely, or advocating for a resident’s needs, CNAs make a profound difference every day.

Why CNAs Matter

CNAs are often the most consistent and familiar presence in a resident’s day. They assist with dressing, bathing, grooming, eating, and mobility—but their care goes far beyond tasks. They know residents' routines, personalities, and preferences. They understand how to communicate when words are hard to find. They listen, observe, and respond to both physical and emotional needs.

They’re also essential team members—communicating changes to nurses, updating care plans, and supporting families with compassion during difficult moments. Their presence is not just appreciated—it’s necessary for quality care.

At Ebenezer, we recognize CNAs as critical to our mission of compassionate, responsive care. They uphold our values of dignity, service, integrity, and innovation, and we are grateful for the incredible impact they have in our communities.

CNA Training, Support, and Growth

Ebenezer is also committed to helping CNAs grow in their careers. CNAs can apply for scholarships to pursue nursing degrees or certifications. Leadership development programs help CNAs explore other paths within the organization, such as care coordination, recreation therapy, or even community leadership.

We want CNAs to know they’re not only appreciated today—but they’re also supported for the future.

A Lasting Impact

The care CNAs provide creates ripples. It eases pain. It builds trust. It strengthens families. And in many cases, it makes it possible for residents to feel safe.
