Pandemic Fund
We have set up a Pandemic Fund to help our residents, their families, and our staff through this very trying time! 

The Foundation will match, dollar for dollar, up to $250,000 given to this fund. Any of our communities can request help from this fund.

2. Click on the first line, “Designation,” and you’ll find the Ebenezer Senior Living-wide specific activity funds all listed right up front. Find the one you want to support and click on it.
3. Following those Ebenezer Senior Living-wide funds you’ll find the funds that support specific communities in alphabetical order by community name. Find the community and the activity you want to support in that community, and click on it

Future gifts come to Ebenezer Senior Living through your estate plan. Not that long ago most of these gifts might have been arranged for in your will.

However, now the majority of estate assets can be passed without a will.* The most common vehicles are:

• Your bank accounts – fill out the POD (Payable on Death) form at the bank
• Your life insurance – fill out the beneficiary form; you can change it any time
• Your retirement account – again, fill out the beneficiary form that you can change any time
• Your home – can be passed through the title

Future gifts can often be larger gifts, which means you can think of supporting a community or specific activity in a big way, or perpetually into the future – with an endowment provision. This can be seen as a wonderful and lasting expression of your legacy.

Life income gifts, or gift annuities, are an old and practical kind of charitable gift. In exchange for a gift of cash, securities, or property, the charity promises to pay one or two people a lifetime income.

The first American gift annuity was issued by Yale in 1831 to the renowned Revolutionary-era painter, John Trumbull, who gave the college nearly 100 of his works if they would promise him a life annuity of $1,000 a year. Trumbull’s paintings started the collection that ultimately became the Yale University Art Gallery. 

An endowment gift differs from all other giving in the sense that we cannot spend the gift itself on the purpose you want to support – we can spend only a certain percentage of the principle every year. The idea is that the gift keeps giving – in perpetuity!

This means support for Ebenezer Senior Living every year, from here on out!

Annually the Ebenezer Senior Living Board makes the determination about what percentage of the principle to spend that year, and that amount of money is made available to be spent.

There is an endowment agreement that includes a section on naming the endowment – usually donors name themselves or a family member and tell the story of their family’s involvement with Ebenezer Senior Living. This also includes clear direction on what is to be supported by the annual distribution. And finally, in this section you why the gift has been made – why the purpose of the gift is important to you.

Endowed gifts are Ebenezer Senior Living’s promise to remember you and to continue the work that was important to you.

The minimum gift to set up an endowed fund is $50,000. This can be made as a distribution from the donor’s estate, or a cash pledge, or a combination.
