A Celebration of Lifelong Learning: Ebenezer’s Art Show Brings Community Together

Life Long Learning
Lifelong Learning isn’t just a phrase we use—it’s one of Ebenezer’s service cornerstones, and a principle we see in action every day in our communities. On June 4, we put that commitment on proud display at the Ebenezer Open House and Gallery Art Show, held at our corporate headquarters in Edina. It was a joyful, multigenerational celebration of creativity, education, and personal growth—highlighting the passions and talents of the older adults who live in our communities.
Gallery Art Show
From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere was filled with excitement. Visitors walked through a gallery space featuring works of art from residents across the Ebenezer system. Submissions this year included paintings, drawings, and mixed media. Each piece told a story—not only about technique or style—but about curiosity, resilience, humor, memory, and voice.
Creative Art Ideas
Throughout the afternoon, guests were encouraged to reflect on their own creativity and consider how learning doesn’t stop after retirement. Lifelong Learning in Ebenezer communities isn’t just about attending lectures or doing puzzles—it’s about curiosity, expression, growth, and finding new passions at any stage of life.
The event also underscored the importance of investing in creative programming in senior living. Studies consistently show that engagement in the arts leads to improved mood, reduced anxiety, increased cognitive flexibility, and greater social connection. That’s why our Lifelong Learning programs include everything from painting and music to writing groups, tech clubs, and intergenerational education.
Thank You Residents!
We’d like to thank every resident who submitted artwork, and the team members who helped them get to the show, install the work, and celebrate the moment. Special appreciation goes to our Life Enrichment Coordinators, who cultivate Lifelong Learning in our communities year-round.
The Open House and Art Show is more than an event. It’s a reminder of the value of older adults in our society. It’s a statement that creativity does not have an age limit—and that the desire to learn, share, and grow remains vibrant no matter our chapter of life.
