The Sycamore of River Falls Expands to Meet Growing Demand for Senior Living
Before the first resident even moved in, every memory care apartment at The Sycamore of River Falls' newest expansion was already reserved. The milestone highlights the strong community response to Sycamore II, which adds 24 memory care apartments and eight townhome villas, giving more older adults the opportunity to remain close to family, friends and the community they call home.
The expansion includes a new, standalone memory care community featuring studio, alcove and one-bedroom apartments, along with eight townhome villas offering two- and three-bedroom layouts to active, independent seniors.
Residents began moving into the townhome villas on August 1, followed by the first memory care residents on August 24. As of October 1, all eight townhome villas were occupied, and 18 of the 24 memory care apartments were occupied, with the remaining apartments reserved.
The enthusiastic response reflects the importance of providing older adults and their families with additional care and housing options close to home.
"The River Falls community has been supportive of Sycamore II throughout the entire development process, from construction to welcoming our first residents," said Megan Harstad, Campus Outreach & Sales Director at The Sycamore of River Falls. "This expansion gives older adults and their families the opportunity to remain in the community they know and love. Families no longer have to look outside of River Falls to find memory care or supportive living options, allowing loved ones to stay close to family, friends and the community they call home."
Growing Alongside the River Falls Community
The Sycamore first opened in June 2023, introducing a senior living model designed to help older adults remain in their community as their needs change.
With Sycamore II, the campus continues to build on that vision by expanding access to specialized memory care and additional independent living residences.
The project broke ground in September 2025 and was completed in August 2026. Throughout the development process, the community received positive feedback from residents, families and neighbors eager to see the additional living options become available.
The expansion also represents another milestone in Ebenezer's longstanding relationship with Frisbie Companies, a local development partner that has worked with Ebenezer on multiple senior living projects.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to providing quality senior living options that meet the evolving needs of older adults while helping them maintain connections to the people and places that matter most.

Building on Success With Future Sycamore Communities
The success of The Sycamore of River Falls is part of a broader effort to expand senior living options in communities throughout the region.
In August, Ebenezer celebrated the groundbreaking of The Sycamore at the Preserve in Maplewood, Minnesota, a new development that will feature 32 apartments, including 26 studios and six one-bedroom residences.
Additional development is also being planned in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, continuing the momentum established through the Sycamore communities.
Together, these projects reflect Ebenezer's continued commitment to expanding senior living options, strengthening community partnerships and helping older adults receive the care and support they need while staying connected to the communities they call home.
